Building Hope: Historic Anonymous Donation Expands Affordable Housing
Alachua Habitat for Humanity Receives $160,000 from Anonymous Donor
Gainesville – Alachua Habitat for Humanity is honored to announce a transformative, anonymous donation of over $160,000, the largest single gift in our affiliate’s history. This generous contribution comes at a critical time, helping us build safe, affordable homes in partnership with local individuals and families. A gift of this magnitude will nearly cover the full construction costs of a Habitat house, laying a strong foundation for a family’s future, stability, and independence.
Since our founding in 1986, Alachua Habitat for Humanity has supported over 300 families through our programs, building more than 190 homes through affordable homeownership and completing over 130 critical home repairs for those in need. This generous anonymous gift will be designated to support the future home of the Kearse family, a hardworking mother of four who is beginning her Habitat journey. The Kearse home will also mark our 19th Women Build home, part of a national initiative that empowers women to lead the charge in building affordable housing through hands-on construction, fundraising, and community advocacy.

Founded in 1986, Alachua Habitat for Humanity is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.
