An all-around funny and friendly guy, Shawn Lewis is a bundle of happiness to all those around him. He is known for always giving a piece of himself to his loved ones, whether that be through telling the funniest jokes or always being a good listener.
Shawn is also a hard worker as well as a nature enthusiast. He works full time as an inventory clerk in the transportation department at Alachua County Public Schools, often picking up overtime shifts. In his free time, he loves to hit up the lakes and nature parks that Alachua is known for, and always enjoys a good fishing trip.
Shawn has known about Habitat for Humanity for some time now – he actually helped build a Santa Fe house himself in his college years. A neighbor who moved into an Alachua Habitat home recently reintroduced him to Habitat. His past experience working with Habitat, as well as many testimonials from other people, prompted him to apply as well. He was surprised with how smooth and easy the application process has been.
Currently, Shawn rents a room in a house, but has big plans ahead! Shawn mentioned that moving into the Habitat house will provide him with the biggest blessing of all – a stable foundation to start his family and comfortably grow as a person. He is so grateful for this opportunity and is eager to have homeowner responsibilities like mowing the lawn and building additions to the house and yard.
Shawn and his family are very close and have yearly family reunions full of good food and good times. Shawn is excited to host one at his own place and enjoy his new space with his friends and family.
