Development Intern

Position Summary:

Alachua Habitat for Humanity is currently seeking an intern to assist our Chief of Development with a variety of projects that will build skills in grant writing, networking, and administration. This position will play a crucial role in the expansion of Alachua Habitat for Humanity. Please note this is an unpaid position.

Representative Duties/Assignments:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with donors
  • Create materials for build sites and other engagement events
  • Participate in acquiring grants for Alachua Habitat
  • Follow-up on new and previous projects (ex. Heirs Project)
  • Assist in planning and execution of development campaigns
  • Build site welcomer using a pre-written script
  • Generate reports for Board of Directors

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 hours/week
  • Willing to attend in-person events
  • Have the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding client/donor information
  • Have strong problem solving, public speaking, and communication skills
  • Writing experience and skills required
  • Ability to collaborate with others to achieve a goal
  • Comfortable working in both a construction environment and office setting
